Operational Excellence

We optimize logistics processes with the clear goal of increasing efficiency, productivity, and effectiveness – and taking existing operations to the next level.

In a dynamic market environment, fast processes, low costs, reliable service, and high quality are critical success factors. However, internal perspectives, limited resources, or a lack of expertise often stand in the way of necessary improvements.

This is where we come in: with an objective external perspective, years of experience, and hands-on approaches, we identify optimization potential, reduce complexity, and ensure sustainable, high-performance processes – without always requiring major investments.

In the field of Operational Excellence, we help answer questions such as:

  • How can I improve my current logistics setup?
  • Am I following the right approach?
  • Where are the cost drivers in my operations?
  • Which short-, medium-, and long-term measures should be implemented to establish efficient workflows?
  • How can I measure success?

Optimization starts with clarity – your intralogistics audit:

The audit focuses on internal process structures, workflow efficiency, and the systems and technologies in use.

It provides valuable insights into resource utilization, cost-effectiveness, and the overall performance of your logistics – creating clarity and paving the way for long-term improvements.

We offer various types of intralogistics audits – from brief warehouse checks to comprehensive audits that take a deep dive into your operational data and identify the so-called "Magnificent 7". Our experience shows that, in an active operation, no more than seven improvement measures can be effectively implemented at once. That’s why we evaluate the expected impact of each identified optimization opportunity in relation to the required investment and effort, and translate these into a tailored optimization roadmap.

The audit reveals specific areas for action where we actively support our clients in implementing targeted measures. Our follow-up services in the field of Operational Excellence include, among others:

Digitalization:

In the field of digitalization, we support companies in developing and implementing customized digital solutions – from process analysis to the selection and procurement of suitable hardware and software technologies, all the way through to system integration, go-live, and ongoing support. We rely on both proven market solutions and our own in-house technologies to deliver tailored, end-to-end solutions.

Planning and optimization of inventory levels:

We focus on the planning and optimization of inventory levels with the goal of determining and implementing optimal stock quantities. In doing so, we help our clients avoid overstocking and stockouts while ensuring long-term delivery capability.

Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP):

We support our clients in establishing and optimizing a cross-functional Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) process to align supply and demand and enhance collaboration between sales, operations (production), and finance. The goal is to create transparency, reduce conflicting objectives, and sustainably improve decision-making and service levels.

Calculation of
process costs:

As part of process cost analysis, we determine the costs within individual logistics processes and make them transparent. In doing so, we specifically identify cost drivers and derive well-founded measures for sustainable cost reduction.

Support with in- or outsourcing decisions:

We advise companies on the strategic decision between insourcing and outsourcing of logistics tasks. Our analysis is tailored to each case to determine which option delivers the greatest value in terms of cost, quality, and flexibility. We also support the entire decision-making process from start to finish.

Establishing incentive
systems in logistics

We design incentive systems in logistics that boost employee motivation through targeted rewards (e.g., in the picking process), helping to improve key logistics goals such as delivery times, cost reduction, and error minimization.
