Starting the digital transformation: LNConsult supports the Germany-wide rollout in 125 POCO branches

13.10.2021

More than 8,000 people are currently working in 125 POCO furniture stores across Germany. With a sales volume of 1.6 billion euros in 2018, the company is one of the largest providers of take-away articles in Germany. For the successful company, the starting shot has now been fired into a digital future and, as a pioneer in its industry, POCO trusts the experienced Austrian digitalization expert LNConsult on this path.

Strong digitalization partner

As a complete solution provider of software and hardware systems, LNConsult cooperates with leading technology giants and also develops its own components in the in-house development department. As a digitalization partner, LNConsult not only acts as a consultant with relevant industry know-how in the Germany-wide rollout, but also as a project developer, implementation partner and managed service provider.

POCO's current investment in digitalization projects is in the double-digit million range. One of the main measures includes the area of digital price labeling. LNConsult equips all branches with the appropriate WLAN infrastructure, which is an important founding block for the later use of the electronic price tags from the leading manufacturer SES-imagotag. The installation of the price tags in the 125 branches is also accompanied and supported by LNConsult. Client POCO also relies on the interface competence of project partner LNConsult.

We don't see projects as a set of individual digital solutions, but always have in mind the overall potential of a digital pathway. After all, the POCO branches should not only benefit from electronic price tags, but from a digital transformation on several levels."

The highly secure and scalable cloud products as well as the latest generation of VUSION price tags enable flexible and synchronous price and product information in the offline stores and at the online shop. Employees are no longer busy with manually indicating discounts and price changes, but can invest their resources in competent customer service in the market.

Rollout completed within three years

POCO is in the middle of the rollout and the first stores have already been equipped with radio infrastructure, network components and displays. This digitalization project should be fully completed by the end of 2024. More than a million VUSION price tags in different sizes will then replace the paper tags for the entire range of goods. Due to the large variety of products - including furniture, floor coverings, electrical goods, decoration and textile products as well as small household and DIY store goods - LNConsult developed fixings that give the product presentation a completely new face. LNConsult also ensures that the new digital solutions are perfectly integrated into the existing digital landscape of POCO and that the interface processes run efficiently. Thanks to the good cooperation and the trust in the partnership, further digitalization potentials are being surveyed and evaluated continuously. A project expansion in the course of the rollout is therefore not precluded.

"As a pioneer in the industry, we have opted for a steady digital path. Having an experienced partner like LNConsult by our side not only makes us confident about the success of the rollout, but also opens many doors along the way to realize further potential together."
